System control method

Modular ups system is method of system control, it is the important for system is running safety and reliability. UPS industry have two way, the one is concentrated control, the another one is decentralized control. Concentrated control have single failure, low reliability, and don’t come true redundancy; how every decentralized control don’t single failure, and adopt to ups system control, the modular ups power module have a rack independent running ability.

Bypass installation

Modular ups power bypass have two method of the contracted bypass and decentralized bypass. The contracted bypass feature is big bypass power, don’t the bypass current, but have single failure for ups system; The decentralized bypass feature is every module have bypass, and low power, need consider the current problem, but completely solve the single failure.

Tradition ups power system is long time application, technology is very mature, but if apply to high require data center, it is limited very hard. Mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. low reliability 

Traditional parallel ups system is complex, don’t back ups system is many single failure, such as parallel card, static switch, output switch.
2. large investment 

Ups power system is apply to data center, the load rate is low. It cause to investment is higher, in the important data center, in order to ensure reliability, a lot of adopt double-bus ups system, the redundancy is bigger, cost is higher. It is research that IDC data center ups system single load rate is 10%~30%, many only about 20%, Early, single load rate is lower, it’s mind that money is limited, the money don’t achieve the benefits.
3. low efficient 

Traditional ups power low load is also cause that the equipment need energy is increase, because ups power transfer efficiency and actual load rate have close relation. According to the actual test results, when the ups load rate is up to 15%, the efficiency is about 85%; when load rate is up to 50%, the efficiency is up to 92%.
4. expansion difficult 

Data telecom slowly become the mind, and have a lot of ups system is need expand. However it is about to the problems, such as frequency, voltage, phase sequence, phase, waves etc., it is hard expand to ups system, meanwhile, products change, if appear to single failure, not equipment can replace.

5. maintain difficult

Due to the manufacture is confidential the technology of ups power supply, internal maintenance system are not open, maintainability is poor, people can’t maintain to ups power supply, rely on the manufactures maintenance.

As the network beginning, telecom industry IDC is higher, many mark network build a lot of IDC data center, they are lots of run server machine. Loss power is very high, and up to thousands of watts, if you want use the IDC data center, whether is safe. It is problem.
